She’s Got Claws Brief Biography

 

She’s Got Claws is UK based female electronic songwriter, Micci. She programs, arranges, engineers, produces and masters her songs and albums in her own studio, Chameleon Studios (UK). She draws her inspirations from a broad spectrum of musical taste, including the French band, AIR to the electronic punk attitude of The Prodigy.

 

Micci also loves rock and indie bands/ artists who incorporate synths into their sound, such as Muse, Nine Inch Nails and David Bowie. She believes that having an open mind will help the progress of music, to keep it from becoming stale.

 

Discography Debut Album - First releasing her self-titled Debut Album, She’s Got Claws in 2012, she introduced audiences to her fractured beats, overdriven bass, synth hooks with poignant lyrics and her dulcet tones.

 

Synthetic Emotion - In 2015 she released her first EP, Synthetic Emotion. This is a concept EP, which tells the story of a love between a humanoid and her creator. Feeling loss and coming to terms with human emotion is something which the humanoid battles with throughout this EP. But it’s a happy ending, well for the humanoid.

 

Euro Electronic 1 - Chris Payne, the keyboardist and violinist to Gary Numan in the 80s, asked Micci to write an instrumental album for his sync company, EML in 2016. The album was called Euro Electronic 1 and was put forward for various media opportunities and films.

 

War Torn - 2017 saw the release of her 2nd album, War Torn. This is an anti-war album, which expresses how she feels about war and her various observations and different perspectives from the media to the families in war torn countries. The profits were given to UNICEF to help war torn families around the world.

 

Synthetic Emotion (Rewired) - Micci decided to remaster this EP and rereleased it with a bigger production and new artwork in 2018.

 

Doppelgänger - Her third album, Doppelgänger, was released in September 2020 and saw the first collaboration for Micci with Andy McCluskey from the 80s band OMD. He produced the opener to her album, Adulation, and an edgy stomping track called Love Lies Bleeding. Also introducing a more gritty live bass feel with Chris O-Ten, who was the bass player in her previous band, Paparazzi Whore.

 

2021 - The Debut album has now been rereleased, complete with a gatefold sleeve, lyric booklet, signed booklet and 2 Bonus Tracks. More info on SGC website.

 

Androgyny - She has now completed a collaboration with another musician called Timo from Montage Collective. The first single from this new album, Androgyny, will be released on 27 August. There’s more info on the She’s Got Claws website, Bandcamp and Patreon.
